See: Medical
Marijuana Patient Todd McCormick Asks Federal Judge to Allow Pot Use while on BailI
am proud to call Todd McCormick a friend. He is one of the most extraordinary young men I
have ever known. I met him at NORML s First National Medical Marijuana Day in 1994.
I got to know him better in Holland where he was learning even more about the plant that
he credits with saving his life. His experiences using cannabis to survive cancer as a
child made him committed to the cause of medical marijuana, but even more to the cause of
the truth.
Another thing that he learned as a child was that he had to lie about using marijuana,
or he would be taken from his mother and she would be severely punished -- if it was known
that she allowed him to use the plant to save his life. This does strange things to a
child. In Todds case it gave him a terrible intensity, which is all too rare. It is
this commitment that makes him a mortal threat to the prohibitionist establishment.
When I say that they must stop medical marijuana at all costs, it is really people like
Todd that I have in mind. They want to lock him up for the rest of his life to die in pain
while they keep the people of America living in fear and hatred. It is no exaggeration to
say that they will lie and kill. The worst of it is that so far this is
still "good politics."
Who are "they?" In this case, almost all of the political establishment of
the United States -- and the rest of the world. (Holland is an honorable exception, but
the short list is growing.)
I sometimes call them the Theocratic/Therapeutic Complex. What they have in common
indeed, all they have in common is the desire to control us and the utterly
stupid and ultimately disastrous commitment to the suppression of a plant. This plant has
turned out to have been far more valuable and important than they could ever have
realized. Now they are committed to the "cover-up." The terminal phase of
stupidity.
As it happens, one of the things the plant did -- and one of the things they have to
cover-up -- was to save the life of Todd McCormick. So now they have to lock him up
forever.
However, you can cage the songbird, but not the song. Stay tuned for the chorus.
