Yesterday
DEAland Drug Czar John Walters descended on Vancouver. Someone had invited him
to speak to the Vancouver Board of Trade, a local business group.

more bizarre lies was a new entry in the BC Bud line: He said 95 percent is
exported to DEAland! Of course, there is absolutely no data to support that
claim. Seizures at the Canadian border are just one percent of the total seized
at the Mexican border.

With
exquisitely bad timing, Walters’ visit came just a few days after
anti-prohibitionists swept the Vancouver city elections. The outgoing Mayor had
become an anti-prohibitionist over the last several years, and even complained
to the DEAland embassy in Ottawa about the Walters visit!

The new
Mayor is even more anti-prohibitionist, but also now has the support of the city
council. I hope to write more about this election soon, because it is a really
important development.

Meanwhile,
when Steve Tuck heard that Walters was going to be speaking here, he and several
friends picketed the hotel venue.

They also
passed out several hundred copies I had printed of Dan Forbes’ Slate article
about Walters’ lying about “potent pot.”

While they
were protesting, Steve and others were interviewed by various Canadian media,
and a long interview with Steve ran on last night’s CBC evening news program,
Canada Today.

So at the
end of a long and productive day, Steve went to celebrate at the New Amsterdam
café, a Hastings Street smoke-easy where smoking – but not sales – is tolerated.
It is just three doors down from the more famous Blunt Bros. It draws an older
crowd, and last night was folk music night. All so terribly respectable.

However,
when a large group of “men in black” came sweeping into the place just before
closing time, it was a bit much for the manager. He was about to ask them to
leave when Steve recognized John Walters! The DEAland Drug Czar had come to a
real Vansterdam marijuana den to watch the addicts kill and eat one another, or
something.

While it is
impossible to know what someone who lives in Walters world really knows, he
seemed to recognize Steve, and immediately walked up to him, but said nothing.

For obvious
reasons, the crowd was not too friendly, but in another twist, Steve found
himself urging everyone to be nice to the man who wants to kill him. So everyone
cooled it, and the Czar was politely tolerated as Steve stood next to him and
continued smoking his medical hash, with his stash in plain sight!

Walters
group consisted of several DEAland narks and/or Secret Service agents and the
head of Vancouver’s narcotics squad, Kash Heed. (That is really his name.)

But Heed is
not a party line prohibitionist, and is responsible for the city’s de
facto decriminalization of possession of all illicit drugs. Several times
Steve overheard him ask Walters, “What is the harm in this?”

Walters had
no response. He was probably trying to figure out what lie to tell about the
peaceful scene before him. Walters personifies the banality of evil.

Or maybe he
had just gotten a contact high from the thick cloud of hash smoke.

In any
case, Walters said nothing to anyone except Kash Heed and stayed for about
fifteen minutes, and left.

There have
been many truly bizarre scenes in this war, but it is hard to imagine anything
weirder than the DEAland Drug Czar in the peaceful surroundings of a Vansterdam
smoke-easy,  standing next to a person he wants to torture to death.

Steve Tuck
is a hero in my eyes because I have seen the sacrifices he has made for the
cause of freedom and the pain that he has had to endure. But last night he
showed an evil man how a real gentleman acts. That is the contact high that John
Walters really needs.
